  how do you explain david's graphic portrayal of jesus' death by crucifixion (psalm 22) 1000 years before christ lived?.

  how do you account for the odds (1 in 10 to the 157th power) that even just 48 (of 300) old testament prophecies were fulfilled in jesus christ?.

  in what sense was jesus a "good man" if he was lying in his claim to be god?.

  One must be careful not to make the assumption that those who do not believe in the existence of God do not want to. In most cases they have searched, yearned, sought, studied, prayed and worshiped. But against all desire to believe, they have had to face up to the glare of reality and admit that they were projecting their hope onto an imaginary concept.

  As a child I had remote and cold parents. I became devoted to a panda who was my best friend and went everywhere with me. One day I had to admit to myself that the panda did not exist and was nothing more than a projection of my childish psyche and desire to have someone who would understand and comfort me. The same thing happened with my belief in God. Fortunately my wife is real and I finally feel loved.

  It is for this reason that I reject the Bible as the work of man, compiled in an attempt to control peoples thoughts and affections.

  Whether mankind would be better of without religion depends on how mankind decides to act towards other people. There is no reason to think much would change.

  wow, it's hard to believe it's already been about a year since this subject was covered in the wt study at kindgom halls around the globe... let's read it just one more time, so we don't forget just how ridiculous this sounded when we first read it.... watchtower (study edition), april 15th, 2010 issue, pages 27-29:.

  "this magazine has long been used by the faithful and discreet slave as the primary channel for dispensing increased light.

  ... what does this explanation mean to us?

  After reading this statement I've casually referred to the New Understanding as the "Overlapping Generation" doctrine. This made we realize that I'm using "apostate" terminology with JDubs. NOT a wise move!”

  I made this mistake a month ago when confronting djeggnog on the thread ‘Is the Watchtower shy about repeating their new "generation" teaching?’ He got his panties in a dreadful twist, but while struggling with his predicament, managed to straighten me out on my understanding of overlapping generations.

  The Watchtower Society doesn’t actually talk of overlapping generations. They talk of two groups of anointed members living at different times whose lives overlap. They assert that this constitutes one generation. This illustrates the confusion that intellectual dishonesty causes.

  Why Is The Watchtower Liquidating Itself?

  in 2009, they reported 118 branches.

  in 2011, they reported 98 branches.

  a net loss of 20 branches in 2 years.. they are selling off kingdom halls, here and there - sometimes packing several congregations into one hall where one per building was the rule.not compassionate where weather or other traveling factors could injure publishers..... and they're selling off some assembly halls, too.. brooklyn et al is being sold - and you already know about all the many cutbacks, layoffs and the downsizing of magazines.. why?.

  It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Bethel Boppers reduce meetings to one hour on a Sunday. The end of this wicked system will be predicted to occur some time this century, God willling. Reporting time would be stopped.

  As long as the 7,000,000 worldwide membership use enough literature and contribute enough to keep the tax evading Tower in place, all will be well.
